We had another day of great weather, which lead to some super fast racing; the 3rd win of the series going to Jamie Hinton, with a PB of 55’57”, getting closer to the course record each time (though the previous record was with a slightly different transition layout). He would have undoubtedly got a good run for his money had Rory Atkins, another former winner whose fastest time is similar and had the fastest swim split, not had a puncture.
One record that definitely went as far as I can see is the Male 40-49 age group record set back in 2009; smashed by Thames Turbo’s James Stratton in 58’09”, with a blistering bike leg of 31’21” for the 21.5km course; not far off the existing record which was set with a slightly more advantageous timing position.
